St Philip — the Apostle of Open Hearts
£40.00
In March 1958, in a jazz club off Sauchiehall Street, Nora Stirling stirred her coffee with an Apostle Spoon of St Philip — the apostle of open hearts. The music wrapped around her like smoke, and across the room, a trumpeter caught her gaze between notes. He gave her his matchbook; she gave him her spoon — a small trade between two souls passing in rhythm. They met again only once, years later, when he returned with a ring made from that very spoon. It no longer mattered that their timing had been wrong — the music had already found its home.
