Lucerne, 1968. Elena Vogel grew up in a mining town where no one owned anything expensive. On her first trip outside the valley — a school visit to Lucerne — she stepped into Bucherer just to see what wealth looked like up close. She couldn’t dream of a Rolex watch, but she spent her entire saved allowance on a souvenir spoon with the crown at its tip. It was the first thing she ever bought that made her feel like she might outrun her circumstances. She kept it on her desk through years of night classes and long shifts. When she opened her own accounting firm, the spoon became a ring.
