Finding Her Own Strength. Aviemore, 1920.

Aviemore, 1920 — Finding Her Own Strength. In the shadow of the Cairngorms, Rhona MacPherson sometimes felt overshadowed too — by louder voices, stronger opinions, clearer paths. Her gran gave her a 1910 apostle spoon and said, “Stir your own tea, lass. Decide what you like.” Rhona took it more seriously than anyone expected. She started making little choices — what to wear, where to walk, saying “no” when she meant it. Each cup stirred with that spoon became a rehearsal for backing herself. Now made into a ring, it reminds her that confidence didn’t arrive all at once — it was brewed slowly, in quiet moments at the kitchen table.
